What is a Level 2 ASP?

A Level 2 ASP (Accredited and Authorised Service Provider) is an electrician who has the qualifications and certified by the electricity authorities of Australia and the NSW Government. Dylko Electrical is an ASP with Essential Energy.

As a Level 2 ASP, Dylko Electrical Category 2 Electricians are trained to handle repairs, maintenance and undertake installations to overhead and underground electrical services between homes or businesses on the Essential Energy electrical supply network.

The services that can be undertaken by a Level 2 ASP are as follows but not limited to:

​

Class 2A – Disconnect & Re-connect

 

Disconnection and re-connection of service lines at the connection point–but only work at the connection point that does not involve accessing network operator assets and do not make mechanical changes to network assets.

 

Class 2B – Work on Underground Service Conductors

 

  • Removal & replacement of local electricity distributor security seal in accordance with local electricity distributor procedures

  • Installation and connection of underground service lines in accordance with the NSW Service & Installation Rules

  • Relocation/upgrading to existing underground service line and restore supply on completion

  • Disconnection & reconnection of underground service lines at the point of common coupling & the connection point

  • Replacement of a service protection device (including where it includes a meter protection device) and service active and neutral links.

 

Class 2C – Work on Overhead Service Conductors

 

  • Removal & replacement of local electricity distributor security seal in accordance with local electricity distributor procedures

  • Installation & connection of overhead service lines in accordance with the Service & Installation Rules of NSW

  • Relocation/upgrading of existing overhead service line & restoration of supply on completion

  • Disconnection and reconnection of overhead service lines at the point of common coupling & the connection point

  • Replacement of a service protection device (including where it includes a meter protection device) & service active and neutral links

Class 2D – Energising Network Operator Service Equipment Including Service Protection Devices/Fuses

 

  • Removal & replacement of local electricity distributor security seal in accordance with local electricity distributor procedures

  • Disconnection & reconnection of the service equipment (including service protection devices/fuses) at the connection point installation, replacement, and removal of service protection devices/fuses as required by distributors in accordance with the NSW Service and Installation Rules

  • Energising service equipment including service protection devices/fuses
